Sakura Steakhouse / Foyer Group

Last night we went to the Japanese Steakhouse. As you can tell the chef moves very quickly, plus the bright light from the flames, I think made the pic blurred. Dick and Peter were having a great time, trying the different Japanese beer and exoctic drinks.  Posted by Picasa

Friday and Saturday night the girls had a sleepover with Grandma! Sophia wasn't feeling too good. Since the girls had stayed up until 10:30 on Friday, they had an earlier bedtime of 9pm on Saturday. Dick and I want to get started for our trip home about 8am. We made the trip in 13 hours which breaks our old record of 14.5 hrs.  Posted by Picasa
We arrived in Florida on Thursday night 2/9/06. The next morning I went to apply for my Florida Driver's License and Dick went to Pilates class. Then I met Melissa with Paige and Sophia and we went to Registar my car and then apply for a Homestead Exemption. When we finished all of that(which took less than an hour) we picked up Dick and drove him to "Clinton's" to pick up his shiny new red car. On Saturday Dick went to Yoga and I took Emma and Paige to the "Sandy Park" which I love because the playground is all sand covered and borders the ICW. You can see a sailboat heading South??? maybe a little too late. Things will really start getting busy in April when the boats start heading back to the Northern climates after spending the winter in Florida or the Carribean. It was a warm and sunny day near 70 degrees. I was sucking it in, since there was a forecast for 6-8" of snow in Maryland. Emma and Paige also love this park. We spent over 3 hours just hanging out. Between the water and the gym/swings set the girls were very busy. Posted by Picasa Dick brought us some of the girls favorite donuts from Dunkin Donuts and we had a little snack to give us an energy boost.

Grandpa Dick, Haley and Mom. Haley took a little nap in the middle of her Party. Then she came back to open gifts, eat some Strawberry cake, that was her Dad's favorite since he was a little guy. Grandma Rosermade the cake and she did a good job, the cake was beautiful with pink icing and real Strawberries for decorations. Next everyone put on their party hats and sang Happy Birthday! All in all, I think she really enjoyed her first Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALEY!!!!!! Posted by Picasa
Daddy, Grandpa Dick, Haley, and Grandpa Jim gather around to sing Happy Birthday. Posted by Picasa
Danny, Haley, Courtney and Great Grandma gather around to open gifts, but I believe Haley was more interested in "The Five Little Catipillars" Posted by Picasa
After Gregory's Party, I left and went to Haley's 1st Birthday. Posted by Picasa
Today was the day we all got together for Gregory's Birthday. He will be 37??? on February 11th. We all chipped in to buy a Pochinko(sp??) game. It is like a Japanse ping ball game or so that is what they told me. Any way he seemed pretty happy, which is good because he is difficult to buy for. Karen had a big Chocolate/Chocolate cake, which is his favorite. Posted by Picasa

Dick and I went with Adrienne & Chris to Tapenade last Sunday. They invited us along to the "tasting" for their Wedding Reception. We were served I think Tapas in different sauces like fennel lemongrass (which I liked the best), roasted pepper, hummus, tomato parmesan, and black olive. Then we had a sampling of H'ors douevres...Chicken Satay and tomato/mozarella. The final course was a Spinach-Mushroom ravioli in a curry sauce and steak with roasted vegetables and a mixed salad . Everything was yummy. Everyone one is excited about the up coming wedding.

Here are additional pics of the "CLOSETS" I am still learning as I go. I get help when I can't figure this out by myself(thanks Mo). Anyway, Dick has started to fill his closet up, and I am beginning to notice how much space we have now that boxes are not piled up in the bedroom floor. I think our next project should be the kitchen floor, Dick's daughter and son-in-law assure us it is simple, and since the kitchen is about 6'x9', how difficult could that be? Stay tuned for the next "This Old Townhouse"

Gregory and Karen came over today to help us finish our basement walk-in closets. Actually they did all the work we just handed them tools and assisted if we could. We are so happy and grateful that it is completed. Karen is very good about spacing and visualizing where or how a shelf would fit in a certain area. Hopefully when Dick goes to re-organize his closets I can get him to part with some of the more worn-out/out-dated clothes.

Last Night we had the Saunders Family gathering for Christmas. Haley was the center of attention. She is soooooo cute, showing her Dad and Grandpa how to put together her Dragon Ball Game. Aunts Max and Barb and Uncle John were able to visit with Haley. She is trying to walk, and any day now will take her first steps. She entertained us all by standing alone, and pushing her new push toys as she walked thru the living room. Our friends Sandy and Mike were also able to be with us. I cooked Salmon and Turkey, and I believe everyone had plenty to eat. We exchanged gifts, and I received some lovely items for my new Florida home. After Dinner we had some lively discussion, and I think everyone had a good time. Tomorrow we leave for Florida. Today is the 60th Anniversary of my parents! Congradulations Mom and Dad!

We had a very nice Christmas. Since I couldnt find a pre-lit, I opted to decorate the Norlk Island Pine that Dick tried to kill while I was in Florida. It reminded me a little of Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree. What do you think? We stopped into visit the Cross Family after church and discovered that Dave didn't need to work on Christmas, so that made everyone happy. Next we went to spend time with Dick's Grand -daughter, Haley. She was at her other Grandparents taking a nap. When she woke up she was excited and curious about all the People. She opened some of her presents and then we all set down to a yummy dinner! Thanks Jim and Jane
