Beach Day

The Big Girls (Morgo and Kristine) arrived today and we went straight to the beach. Paige rec'd the first offical "buried in the sand" this summer since the other girls were in school. Sophia declined to go because she was overcome with shyness...which will probably last a day!

Lucky Paige got out of school early to go to the Beach. I picked the Big Girls up at the airport and we went directly to the Beach. They want to get max Beach time while they are here.

Anna Elise

Dick's youngest grandchild. Does she look like her Daddy? I''ll cast my vote after I see her in person, which I hope will be soon.

Cubby----Daytona Beach

Dick arrived for the Memorial Day Weekend. We went to a Daytona Beach Baseball Game. My Friend Judy and her Grand-daughter Sailor got up on the Dugout to Dance to the "YMCA" with the mascot Cubby.

Congratulations Paige

The Season ended for Paige on Friday. Here she is with Coach Melissa receiving her trophy. They celebrated at Frosty King(one of the parents owns) with Hot Dogs and Ice Cream.

Dinner with Tyler

I went to see Tyler play lacrosse and afterwards we went to the Noodle Company. What did he order? The same thing when he was 5.....Mac&Cheese, somethings never change, but Tyler is getting close to 6 ft tall.

Ahlawn & Montpelier

James Monroe's house and Gardens in Charlottesville. Montpelier, home of James Madison. The DuPont Family owned it, but it was given to the National Fund, and is in the process of being restored. The restoration should be finished in September 2008. I would like to go back and take the girls, the countryside is beautiful even on a cloudy day.

Barbara's Va President's Tour (70th BD)

We gathered at Michie Tavern for some Lunch. Both of Barbara's children Greg & Christine where there with their families. Peyton is getting so tall, she is now seven, we don't see her as much since she moved to Chicago , but maybe her Mom will work for MM some day and they will live in FL. This is the Recipe that was handed down to me from Myrtle Fissell (Greg & Melissa's Grandmother) Melissa is now trying to convince Sophia that this is what she wants for her Birthday, so far Sophie is sticking with Hello Kitty.

Ex-pert Gutter Cleaning

I fired my former X-Pert Gutter Cleaner because he knocked the cap off my solar panneling while on the roof, which caused the water to start cascading off the roof . I have been up there one time since to clean, but this area over the ceiling fan, I couldn't get to because there was a nest of HUGE ants. Luckily my Son took pity and did the job for me. I wish he would visit more often!

Fissell Family Birthday Cake

We had a special request from Melissa to make the cake that was handed down from her grandmother Myrtle. The copy I had was nearly 40 years old, she had Gil take it to the office and make a xerox copy for me, because the recipe was very long, and it would've taken her too long to write it out by hand. This was a cake that Greg Jr enjoyed for his Birthday, so since he was here, we baked this cake from scratch! Of course, i could not have done it without the help of my littlle grand-daughters. One of them believe she is following in the foot steps of the naked chef.
