This is me waiting for Surgery. Actually I waited 4 hours. The person scheduled before me took more time than they planned. So instead of having surgery at 11am, they finally got around to me about 3pm. The surgery took less than an hour and I was out of there as soon as they would let me. I came home under the care of Dr Dick, who immediately gave me some pain pills. I believe within a short span of time I began this itiching which started in my hair, and continued to my arms and chest and finally stopped at my butt. When I tried to eat the yummy bagel that Dr D made for me I could hardly swallow. It was then that I began to realize perhaps I was having a reaction to my meds. I had to stay off my foot for 48hours, which is hard with a new puppy which must have a bladder the size of a PEA. Thanks, to my nurses, Joyce on Thursday and Stephanie on Friday, KiKi had excellent care. I tried another pain pill to see if I might really have an allergic reaction, this time it was much milder, needless to say I switched to good ole Advil. It has been a pain in the butt, using the shower/bath. I have to bag my booted foot and tape it up to prevent wetness. I'll be glad to get back to FL. where I have my Handy Dandy shower that I can stand-up and hang my foot out. This recent procedure has given me thought for my future years(I believe someone called them the "Golden Years"). I am going to do everyhing possible to stay healthy and not be laid-up again. But, in the meantime, I want to encourage my grandaughters to be doctors/ nurses.
