Visit from Dick 7.28.07

Dick came down for a weekend visit since the fares were a good price. Friday night we went to the Little Theatre in New Smyrna, after trying the Ocean Club Restaurant. I had yummy Conch Fritters and grilled veggies. I was trying to make good selections since I lost 5.6 # this week for a total of 9.8 #'s. The play I am afraid got a thumbs down, but maybe it will get better, since this was opening night. Saturday morning we went to the Art Walk on Flagella and stopped for Coffee at the Beach Buns. Saturday night we met with the St Peters Group for dinner. This time it was a little more difficult, since it was a homestyle cookin' meal. "Cocoa-Cola" ham and sweet potatoes. I had to dig into my extra WW points! I had some Bread Pudding for dessert, that was not wise, I had no ideas it was that many points! Sunday we woke up early and met Melissa and the girls at the Beach. Dick managed to finish his Harry Potter book that he bought on the Airplane. I thought I might need to hide it from him, because he read it every spare moment. We did go to see HP movie, which had rec'd 2.5 *'s , but I thought it was at least 3*'s. We grilled out, which I love to do and would do more often if it was more than me. So, I had a great weekend, I just hope my WW weigh-in won't be a bust. I'll need to go on strict selection while in Idaho.

WW Blueberry Cobbler

Today Paige and Sophia came over while Emma was at Art Camp, to help me make Blueberry Cobbler. I found the Recipe on WW site, and decide since Paige like Blueberries this would be a good treat to make, and it was only 3 points per serving. We made a blueberry mixture, including lemon zest, so the girls were able to use a zester. After we made the mixture , Sophia made the dough, and Paige rolled it into a Ball (then she decided she would try making a mountain). We then made 12 little balls, which was fairly simple since the girls had experience from playing with Play Dough. Sophia wanted to lick everything clean. Then we popped them in the oven, and Sophia kept careful watch. When Melissa and Emma returned from Art Camp, we had our little snack, but Paige declined, I quess since it was something different.

Big Momma

I was so hot after doing my yard work , that I jumped in with my clothes on. Actually it was my pilates clothes, because when I came back from class I began working in the yard immediately before it became too hot and the Thunderstorms rolled in.. Since I was next to the blower in the Spa my tank top began to expand. Sophia and Paige were fasinated with the idea of a Grandma with big Boobs. They just wouldn't stop pounding on my new expansion.

Sunday Morning Feeding the Seagulls

We went to the beach about 7:30 am on Sunday. First we stopped at the New Dunkin Donuts on Beachside. Of course I only got a cup of black coffee since I am on WW and who knows how many points a chocolate sprinkle donut would be. We had pound cake and angel food cake left over from the Book Club mtg that was at my house, so that was my contribution. I have tried not to nibble, and so I have lost 4.2 # my first week. That leaves about 33 # before I meet my goal. Anyway, the birds were not too impressed with my cakes. As a matter of fact we could not get much of a group to gather, like we used to do at Myrtle Beach or Cape Hatteress, were they would flock at the sighting of a single bread crumb being tossed into the air. While we were relaxing on the beach a jogger lady stopped and asked to take our photo, because she was a photgrapher , and she thought the setting with the sky was so nice. I don't know if she meant she was a professional, or that it was her hobby, but here you can see her results. Of course the girls could not resist digging in the sand even though they did not bring their shovels.

Strawberry Shortcake

Sophie is wearing the lovely dress that Dick gave her. She always is initially shy, and therefore needs to be coaxed to remove Dora from the front of her face. Here she is trying to show me the Lady Bug on her dress. Dick just bought me some plants when he was here for his last visit. I just planted the Crepe Myrtle and the Crotons. Next will be the Split leaf Philodendren, when I find the perfect spot. I think I want to place it near the box for the reclaimed water so that the box will be hidden from sight. In the meantime I have started to clear some of the "Jungle" that edges on my property. Emma was helping me, by jumping on the base of the Palm leaves so that I could cut them. I also gave the girls a dollar for each bucket of "coco nuts " they pick up from my yard. It is like an Easter Egg Hunt. Emma is very ambitious and ask every day if more nuts have fallen. I fear that if all the nuts are picked up the little squirrels may have to move to another neighborhood.

Haircut &Visit from Dick

This is my new haircut. Paige took the photo for me. I had it cut before Dick came for his visit on the 4th of July. We spent a lot of time in the pool coolling off. Dick was helping the girls practice diving. They are becoming pretty good less and less belly flops.

Sophia & Her Marshmellow Gun

We went to the Seaside Festiva while Morgan was here. It is an opportunity for the community Artist to display their goods. My grand-daughters found something they needed------Marshmellow Guns. Here is Sophia loading up her Gun, see how simple this is even a 3 year old can manage. Now she takes aim for her Cousin Morgan who is a "sitting" target or should I say a "reclining target" . The one drawback, is that Sophia eats her ammunition faster thatn she can load and shoot it. After all the fun it's showers and shampoos for everyone!

Back in Florida 6/10

kiKi was glad to be back home and rest out in the back-yard. Due to her condition she has been kept under close surveillance. She was happy to rome free in the tall grass that engulfed her. I guess I will need to get the old lawnmower out.

The girls returned on the 19th of June and immediately came to the pool to show off their new suits that Dick bought for them. Pretty cute! You did good Dick!

Old Stein/Pam's B'day 6/9/2007

We met up with Dick's Girls and their Families. Haley really enjoyed her dessert of Chocolate Cake. She did not need or want any help from her Mom. Roger enjoyed the Beer Garden Atmoshpere. Under the circumstances, I believe we still had a good visit while they were here. I hope they will come to Florida and visit me during their rainny/cold season. It was nice to see Adrienne and Chris, they were able to take off for the weekend from their kitchen re-modeling.

KiKi Becomes a Woman

KiKi went into "HEAT" . My other dogs were always fixed before they went into heat, except for Sasha who was outside, so I never noticed the spotting. Pam and I went to the Pet Store and bought some Bitches Britches, which she immediately tore off. Then we put on a second pair, but by this time Pam and I were laughing and rolling in the floor with the antics of KiKi trying to pull them off . The only way i got her to sit still was to give her treats and eats. So KiKi operation has been cancelled until July and Dog Obedience class was changed to July, since we didn't want her to be the class distraction.

this is Sophia's new Pink carseat. actually it is a booster, since she is 3 now she can ride in a booster. After we picked up gregory we went to RonJon's Surf Shop in Coco Beach, where melissa picked up this new sunvisor. Karen sent this little shirt for KiKi. It has "SPOILED" written in silver studs on the back . She really likes it and is waiting for a "cold spell" to wear it.

Sophia and her classmates gather on the ABC Carpet to sing Happy Birthday Miss Susee explains that today is Sophia's Birthday. Melissa made Blue(Sophia's favorite color) Rice Krispy treats . Melissa is trying to keep the other children from blowing out the candles, before Sophia does. She only had to re-lit it 3times!

ST Peter the Fisherman Sunday Supper 5/3/07

We had the Sunday Supper Group over on Thursday night instead of Sunday, so that Dick could be in attendance and meet some of my friends. We had a nice time just hangin out by the pool. Dick was a big help, he did the major cooking.
