Spring Base Ball Training --Day#1

This was a beautiful stadium and nicely laid out. We had great seats behind home plate. Donald Duck put in an appearance to help throw out the first ball. The weather was great warmer than the prediction, which was fine with me. Dick tossed back a few to help with the hot sun factor, while others chose to use the umbrella as a cooling device.

Before and After "The Cake"

For some reason the B'Day cake didn't quite meet my expectations this year. I even made two following slightly different mix of ingredients. Anyway about two weeks following Melissa's Birthday I found the original Recipe, so I promise I will try again when Gregory visits. Actually I am tempted to email Swan's Down and ask them to check their archives.

KiKi Visits Danny and Kathy

Kathy and Danny were nice to care for KiKi so I could catch a plane back to Florida since I had a job lined up with EJ. KiKi really loved the wide open spaces of this backyard.

Who Dressed Sophie?

Sophie dressed herself. She was staying home with me today because she had a fever yesterday. She packed these clothes to wear, without her Mom or big sister telling her what to do. She is very proud of herself, she is quite the Fashionista. She would not make any changes to what I suggested.

While in CR

Here I am trying out Mike's hammock, moments later the line behind my head slipped almost to the floor, which made me decide not to try resting again! Sandy and I took a walk down to the "Swimmin Hole" that was created by damming up the stream. The kids were on Holiday and you could hear them splashing and yelling everyday. We took a walk up the street and met a neighbor on horseback heading up to the paved highway.(which was a two lane asphalt road) The bottom pic is looking across the calle from Sandy & Mike' front gate.

Sandy & Mike's Hacienda

Just about every morning we would have coffee and fresh fruit on the Patio/terrazzo. They have about every fruit imaginable growing on their lot. Bananas, mangoes, lemons.limes, oranges, papyas etc., plus Mike has started a vegetable garden. Dick spent time reading/relaxing. Mike has built a retaining wall on this side of the house, but is planting what I thought resembled Hibiscus, because the roots hold the ground.

Paige Photos

Melissa and Mike came over to resurrect my Guava tree that I believe was nearly felled by Raccoon. Paige took some interesting photos of my yard. Winter garden not much in bloom. Snake plants and palm tree still thriving

Hot Dip on a Cold Night

We decided that we would warm up by getting in the SPA. Now the spa is 102 degreesbut the pool was 60.
The girls would jump into the pool to chill down. Sophia is the brave one jumping in.

New Years Resolutions 2009

Gregory put together a shelfing unit I had started with Sophia, unfortunately she could not hold it tight while I pounded in the ends. Luckily Gregory finished it for us, and now my garage looks much neater.
Dick climbed up on the roof, to clean the gutters. This is becoming quiet a task, remember Karen and Greg just did this at Halloween when they visited. Beware, the next person who visits me on a Holiday may end up on my roof!

Beach Day 2009

What would it be without a "Bury Sophia in the Sand Day" to start the New Year? We just want to make everyone living in the colder states jealous because they weren't here!

Winner of the Best Decorated Dollhouse for 2008

The girls decided to decorate their dollhouse with some of my xmas decorations. I think they did a very good job. Paige puts on the finishing touches, while sophia poses with the Winning Selection!
