Beach Day 2009

What would it be without a "Bury Sophia in the Sand Day" to start the New Year? We just want to make everyone living in the colder states jealous because they weren't here!

Winner of the Best Decorated Dollhouse for 2008

The girls decided to decorate their dollhouse with some of my xmas decorations. I think they did a very good job. Paige puts on the finishing touches, while sophia poses with the Winning Selection!

Christmas Day

I was called to my Grand- daughters by 6:30 am, where they opened all their gifts, while the 2 Grandmas watched. Then I went home to start the Brunch, before they arrived. They looked so cute in their pink satin pj's and mammoth crocs. Not only did they receive toys, but plenty of new clothes! Then we went out on the pool deck for Breakfast. Cousin Katy stopped by to distribute the latest fashions in hats.

Sophia makes Cookies without Any Help

The Secret Recipe for Peanut Butter Cookies, which has been in our family for generations is past on to the youngest. This is during my alone time with Sophia in the afternoons while her sisters and Mom are in school. Sophia is such a sharing child while she licks one hand KiKi licks the other. Of course we can not leave Finley out, so he gets a lick also. We were trying to take one of those "at arms length" pics, but Sophia's arms were not quite long enought. I think we need to practice more before we get as good as Jen and Mo.

Maxine's Kitty Buffet

I know all my Cat lover friends will appreciate this Blog. We went over to visit Max, who I believe has 2 or maybe 3 cats, seldom have I seen them altogether. I was amazed to see the smorgasbord she had laid out for these Kitties. As you can see the Black cat ,while the first to dinner realized her"special dish" is not there and waits for Max to set out her "special dish". Maybe Rat Bauer or Benny would like to go visit Maxine's Kitty Buffet?

Cool November Night Swim

Paige preparing to do a back dive into Spa.(Just kidding it is only 2ft deep) The girls really like these night swims, I am not quite sure why, maybe it is because they are rare. It was so cool they just jumped into the pool to cool off. They did take a few minutes to lounge, but it was not a good time to be working on their tans. Sophia was getting ready to do some snorkeling with paige who is already partially submerged.

Next job---Bathroom painting

I had asked Greg and Karen to paint my bathroom when they came down, but they didn't realize how much help they would get. Sophia get to paint one of her favorite colors-purple! Paige reminded me of one of the last workers I hired ....topless with low-slung jeans. Emma was very exacting. Karen did a great job supervising, she made sure they got every crook and crany. Thanks Again Karen and Greg.

Leaf Cleaners

Leaf/gutter cleaners to the rescue and not a moment too soon. Greg and Karen climbed up on the roof, it was quite an accumulation. They worked very hard and I really appreciate it.

Engaged! 10/21/08

While in Annapolis Dick gave me this ring to make it official! He had planned to give it to me during the Raft-up with SOS, but the weather was so bad that weekend(10/18), we were unable to Raft. The weather had turned so cold, I decide on Tuesday I would make soup. So, he gave the ring to me after we finished a bowl my First Cold Weather Vegetable Soup. Every fall when we would have our first blast of Winter, Dad would make a big pot of Vegetable Soup. He would call me over to pick-up a HUGE mayonaise jar of soup for me and the kids to have for dinner. Dad treated Mom like she was a Queen, and in that way Dick reminds me of my Dad.
