Motley Crew

This was on Sunday, and it was a little bit warmer. Dick had on 7 layers of clothing. Hey, I am the one from Florida with thin blood! Hope seems to have figured how to get the most out of what you have to wear. Don, the true Canadian is the one who can bear the cold better than any of us.

Goose Cruise

We went sailing with SOS. It was very chilly, windy and my Birthday. It was so windy that we could not make a raft, but instead made PODS. We sailed with Don Foster on Eclipse. I hope I am able to move like he does when I am 80. Here he is cleaning the anchor with "gunk" that won't come off too easily. Crabbers were out checking their lines, this couple are passing a Osprey nest on a marker. The area on the Eastern Bay is beautiful and the home are very nice.

Finishing Up

Well they finished the Project. Smoothed everything out. So I am ready to have a Party, so everyone can park their car in the driveway. But most important, as I told Sophia she will have her own little skating rink, right outside my front window.

They're Here !

As promised the workmen showed up at 8 am. I actually heard the truck and thought it was the trashmen and went to gather up the trash to take to the curb. These guys are definitely morning people, I told them i would be back for more pics when they started sweatin". The man operating the cement truck seems to have the best job, he is dressed in kaki's and I don't think he gets too messy. I am just happy that this is almost over.

Progress Continues

Well the city inspector said that the pipe was too high and it needed to be lower so that it would drain north. The crew came out to make the correction and tomorrow they pour the cement!

Running Errands with Sophia

After I checked in with the Builders(they will pour concrete on Monday), we went over to Suzie's. She is leaving for Canada for a short visit. She has a "Teahouse" in her backyard which Sophia really liked. Next we went to habitat for Humanity to make some donations, and then to Mr. Brown's Bookstore to trade some books. Since it was past school closing we called Mo to see where we would meet up. She invited us to see her new Classroom. BTW she is now a full time teacher for the new 4th grade class at the school where Emma & Paige go. She had been working all day, putting her classroom together. Luckily, she had a big strong volunteer to assist her!

Days Work Done

Ok, this is what is completed at the eod. The Sun is brightly shinning now, but that is how it is in Florida. So what I have is a patio by the front window, driveway wider by 8' and sidewalk to the back screen entrance of the pool. The sidewalk is two fold it is also a edger for the garden in front and on side of house. KiKi inspect the back fence area to see if Mr Armadillo can get in and do more damage. Also the kids can go to the Deck Box and not track in grass to the pool area.

Lunch/Rain Break

They have moved in the BIG John Deere. They laid the extra sewer line, and dug around to the back yard. I am assuming they will come back since they left that big tractor. Some of the forms have been laid. I am not sure what the steps are to making a patio, anyway this is giving these guys some days work, i just hope it doesn't take tooo many days..

Digging for Patio

Today F&M began work on My patio and widdening of driveway. Woz, I wish you were here to supervise! KiKi is having a fun time....she only stops barking to catch her breath. they dug up my Giant Hibucus, which I had cut back to help them remove. Now if I can re-plant them????They also dug up my Crepe Myrtle and Crotans, that were doing so well, but of course were in the way of the driveway tobe.
